News has been received of the passing of Alan Blackburn as a result of asbestos cancer, brother of Nigel Blackburn and father to Hugh Blackburn. Alan left the Abbey in 1956 to go to university. Alan lived in Lochailort as a child before heading south.
His funeral will take place at Glenuig church, Lochailort on Thursday 30 November at 1200
