Fr. Frederick Matthew Stedall, died at Nantwich, Cheshire, from injuries received in a collision between his motor cycle and a car. Fr. Stedall was parish priest at Beccles for 18 months having replaced Abbet Knowles as parish priest. He left in September, 1945, to become curate at Redditch. During the first world war, he was in the Army. Afterwards, he became a monk at Fort Augustus Abbey.
